Dear all,

We would like to let you know that there will be a training on OASIS3-MCT at Cerfacs, Toulouse, Wednesday, 13 January 2016 to Friday, 15 January 2016, see :

To register you have to fill the pre-registration form : specifying which training you want to follow.

There are already 5 participants (over 10). The training will take place only if at least 6 persons confirm their participation.

As explained on the web page of the training, the training will be half price (450 € out of taxes instead of 900 € out of taxes) for the next European participant registered who is not in thesis or postdoc, due to explicit financing by a European project.

Best regards,

Laure Coquart, for the oasis team.

Dear all,

A training session on XIOS I/O library will be given 15th of December at La Maison De La Simulation (Saclay, nearby Paris, France). This training day is adressed to people using (or planning to use) XIOS

library in climate models. The schedule of the day is as follows :

- Morning : Lecture session : XIOS library presentation : general overview, functionalities, performances, news of XIOS 2.0 release.

- Afternoon : Hands On session : practical for all levels (beginning to advanced).

The session will be held in french (english slides).

Please send your inscription by email before 1st of December to Cette adresse e-mail est protégée contre les robots spammeurs. Vous devez activer le JavaScript pour la visualiser. with following information :

- half-day you want to attend (morning, afternoon, or both)

- your expectation about the session (specific questions, etc.)

More details about the course will soon come here:

A new CLIMAF session will be organised at IPSL. As a reminder, CliMAF ( is a python environment developed jointly at CNRM and IPSL within the ANR Convergence projet. It aims at an easier analysis of our simulations both interactively and to build atlases. Today CliMAF has reached a sufficient maturity and is used by a couple of guinea pig scientists for their work.
This second CliMAF session will follow the same format as the first one:
- the morning will be devoted to demo and presentations of CliMAF
- the afternoon will be used for practicals (examples of how to use CliMAF in your daily work, on Ciclad, your own laptop or simply on paper)
We remind that this second session will be in English. We hope that we will be able to gather all the people who could not attend the first session.
Please fill the poll:
We will determine the date of this second date by the 1st of October.

Dear colleagues,

The training course on the LMDZ general circulation model will take place at the Laboratoire de Météorologie Dynamique at Jussieu on the 7th, 8th and 9th of December 2015. Mornings will be dedicated to the presentation of the model physics and dynamics, specification of inputs and outputs and description of the different model configurations; while afternoons will be dedicated to practical exercises to install and run LMDZ. The training course will be given in French or English depending on overall request.

Please register for the courses, practical exercises and meals by filling out the following poll:

This training course is for any person who wants to learn how to perform simulations with LMDZ, but also for those who already use the model and want to better understand its content and its various potentialities. Please forward this message to anyone who might be interested, in particular to PhD students. Note that this training can be validated as a PhD education course.

The deadline for registration is the 6th of November.

We invite you to consult the webpage of the previous training course to get an idea of the training course content:
